Chuck is one of the more dynamic characters on 'Gossip Girl'. Though he reads as a standard trope (affluent, east coast, spoiled social jockey/misfit), Chuck is also developing a heavy dose of psychosis. No doubt a result of his affinity for marijuana (which alone suggests a lack of moral stability) Chuck is depicted as a drug using degenerate who ignores the conventions that govern appropriate behaviour. In essence his social standing is the only thing that separates him from the drug addled rapist behind a bush in the park.

Chuck allows us to sympathize with the drug addled rapist in the park that we all secretly desire to be. What was in the syringe/eyedropper that Chuck put in the smoothie he made after a vigorous night of three-person sex with the hotel employees?
I agree, in some sense, Caligula is hard to take your eyes off of. It permits us to enter the world of the socially warranted rapist. Whereby which we confront rape in some strange televised, but none the less pornographic, network licensed viewing.
However, within the program there is still many typifying traits attached to Chucks character that clearly tell us not to be Chuck, not to be the rapist.
