He’s only a nebbish schlemiel, just kvetching about…

UH OH, Wem ist Der Reicheskanzler!

Germany's reluctantly pressing for sanctions against Iran. Most news sources are interpreting Germany's refusal to discuss a pre-emptive strike on Iran (if sanctions won't provide cooperation) as being solely motivated by economic interest. "America has self-imposed sanctions on Iran that ensure America’s absence along with America’s competitors economic opportunity".

Germany has capitalized on Americas decision to place sanctions, meanwhile France is drawing up war plans for Iran, but ultimately think of what kind of tacit message Germany is sending Israel by trying to maintain its economic ties and avoid invasion.

Where does the allegiance of Putin lie?

Apparently, Russia has not received the funds from Iran for their previously negotiated nuclear parts deal. So, the question becomes, when the funds are received and Iran is able to amplify the nuclear centrifuges, how does the U.S. respond?

-more sanctions
-war
-diplomacy
-no response

Western Europe and America should be careful not to couple its alienation of Iran with Russia, for I fear it will be of great consequence.

That’s a good point. My previous statement totally belied the question of whether or not Iran needs to be invaded, or if its legal for the UN to deny Iran an uranium enrichment program?

The Flier Insurgency

I tend to think sanctions are kind of lame. I'm always a huge fan of negative propaganda paid for by the U.S.A., covertly of course. Let's paint a bad picture to bolster the spirit of the younger generation that has been alienated in recent years. Let's draw up some nasty political cartoons, a massive campaign.

Unless Israel is destroyed by a nuclear weopon, an invasion of Iran seems to me extremely unlikely. Sarkozy has tried to explain that Kouchner's statements were not meant to suggest that France is preparing to invade, but rather that plans for every possibility are drawn up. WTF? This whole thing seems very un-French, but with the election of Sarkozy, France seem to be aiming for a new position in global affairs. Perhaps all this big dick posturing is a way for the French government to dispel the national image of France as a country made up of limp dick aesthetes who wilt at the suggestion of any conflict not over cabernet sauvignon or cinema verite. Or maybe this is just the way the French display their grief over the death of Marcel Marceau.

I agree Siloviki and whats more, now that the reformist trend has spoken and Sarkozy is president. There will be an even greater pressure for him to carry out his reform and integrate France into a higher global position. With that said, the plan created for an Iranian war can be nothing more than posture. A war between the two could not be much beyond uni-lateral and with Germany's decision to not sanction Iran, France is left in an even more awkward position. I hardly believe that the U.S. will enter another war after our current blunder (Iraq), so that leaves very few other options. I think France's love for the aesthetic does equal their love for cotoures.

Question: How do you destroy Israel with a nuclear warhead without destroying the Palestinians?

Prof. Zapsyou said...

Dirty Bombs, deployed and distributed with calculated effectiveness.

Not a warhead.

But then you might say: “what the point in doing that if the Palestinians hope to inhabit their lost territory?” well clearly the offense is considered enough to die for.

The thing to look at is not how much of a legitimate (warhead) threat Iran poses for Israel. But why is there this collective posturing? It’s done with some effort to secure an economically cooperative Iran? It has more to do with China than anything
